“The Way of the Cross is my way to eternal happiness. It is the place where the soul meets Christ.”
This brief but powerful thought was written down by Fr Bishoy Kamel in the last few weeks of his life, reflecting one of his catch-phrases earlier in life, “There is no saint without a cross.”
The sacred demands upon the every christian are quite plainly to take up every day the cross, to affirm whatever each day brings as the will of God, to offer back to God every evening all the joys, cares and sufferings of this unique day.
For Fr Bishoy, this was not just an ideaolgy or a theory, it was something to be lived through day by day.
